Built for the Renault Sport Trophy, which was unfortunately cancelled in 2016 after just two seasons, it featured a Dallara-developed carbon-fibre monocoque and a Nissan Nismo VR38DETT 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6, linked to a Sadev seven-speed sequential gearbox.

Making 565PS (415kW) and more than 600Nm (444lb ft) of torque, it was an absolute weapon, with Renault estimating that the 1,145kg car would sit between a GT3 and a DTM in terms of performance. In fact, in 2015, Renault decided to modify the car to allow it to compete in GT3, detuning it to 507PS (373kW) and adding 125kg of weight, alongside a number of aerodynamic and chassis adjustments. Some of those models still race today, and here’s one of them, a CRP-Racing team model taking to Monza Circuit during a test and track day last August.

It is spectacular, in style, sound and speed, tearing around the 3.6-mile circuit. Complete with pit shots, onboards and external flybys, this has to be one of the most detailed views of the car that we’ve seen for a while. And it’s well worth a watch.
