Video: Rabid rally cars on the 'Ring
As the sound of four hungry trumpets homes in, even with a black screen, you just know this video is gonna be a treat for the senses. As the clip fades in, of a rally spec E30 M3 tumbling towards you, throttle inlets blaring, you settle in. Rallye Kolne is a rather unique event, as it uses some of the Nordschleife for some of its tarmac stages. So that very same M3 then appears on the Green Hell, going the wrong way around the carousel.
Other delightful highlights include R3 spec Skoda Fabias, Mitsubishi Evos, Ford Escorts, other BMWs and M3s and even a few oddities. How does an old Saab sound, or an old Sunbeam Lotus? It’s also amusing to see relatively standard-looking hatchbacks like Clios and Corsas spitting with the most egregious anti-lag you’ve ever heard. We just love to see and hear these things getting chucked around, kicking up dust and being a riotous watch for onlooking fans.
