This year’s event continues this tradition, with three fine examples of Voisin’s creations on display, the most exceptional being the unique 1935 C28 Aerosport.
This stunning fastback coupe was a pre-war lesson in aerodynamic efficiency, exhibiting Voisin’s aviation expertise in motoring form. Based on the chassis of the Voisin C28 model, this performance Aerosport had an aluminium body mounted on a glue-laminated wood structure, as used on Gabriel’s aircraft. The Aerosport also featured an advanced sliding sunroof, which was motorised; quite an innovation for the mid-1930s.
Discovered as a wreck some years ago, this Voisin was beautifully restored by Carrosserie Dominique Tessier in 2014, including its natural cow's hide interior, made in collaboration with Hermes in Paris.
